GigE Vision
Camera not found
If a GigE Vision based camera is not found, then first validate the IP address and subnet mask of the used Ethernet interface are set correctly. This can quickly be tested by using eBUS Player and selecting Show unreachable Network Devices in the connection dialog. If it shows as unreachable, then configure the IP address and subnet mask to be within the same network as the camera (but not the same IP address).
Dropped frames
Performance of GigE Vision based cameras depend a lot on the configuration of the network adapter. To be able to check and modify this configuration, search for "View network connections" in the Windows start menu, double click the used Ethernet port, click on Configure..., and select the Advanced tab. This will show the list of configuration items that are available for that adapter.
Below is a list of the currently known options and values that may improve performance, note that not all of them will be available:
- Advanced EEE: Disabled
- Energy-Efficient Ethernet: Disabled
- Flow Control: Disabled
- Gigabit Lite: Disabled
- Green Ethernet: Disabled
- Jumbo Frame: Maximum value, often 9014 Bytes or 16128 Bytes
- Power Saving Mode: Disabled
- Receive Buffers: Maximum value
NOTE: Windows update may revert these changes from time to time, so if the performance drops again, then check the configuration.
There may also be dropped frames if firewall is enabled, so make sure that perClass_mira_gpu.exe is not blocked.
